The Bilderberg Meeting, 2030
The year is 2030, and history is repeating itself as NASA is set to send a manned space shuttle to the red planet in June of 2035 in the hopes of beating North Korea, who has surprised everybody with their ability to catch up to the USA in technological abilities. Other space organizations such as the European Space Agency, Roscosmos State Corporation for Space Activities, and the China National Space Administration have also made great progress in the race to Mars. Such an amazing feat is guaranteed to come with ethical and political problems, which are planned to be discussed at the Bilderberg Meeting in Venice, Italy. Representatives from space exploration corporations, CEOs of advanced technology companies, and political figures from North America and Europe are scheduled to meet in Venice, Italy to discuss the social and political implications of sending humans to Mars. This meeting of elite minds is uniquely suited to influence space policy and consider different possibilities to big questions, such as, how can we ensure peace between representatives of different countries on extraterrestrial soil? How does the United Nations Treaties and Principles On Outer Space apply to planets that are not Earth? How does the race to Mars change the international political landscape back on Earth? How will these powerful people associated with space travel attempt to navigate the challenging political landscape of the world in 2030? We will find out at the Bilderberg Meeting 2030 On Human Space Travel to Mars.

Amy is a sophomore at Mount Holyoke College and a double major in International Relations and Russian and Eurasian Studies. As an avid fan of science fiction and international law, Amy is excited to witness the intersection of these two areas in committee discussions about Mars colonization and its impacts. When not doing MUN, Amy enjoys drinking coffee, learning the Russian language, following dog Instagrams, filling out a bullet journal, and re-watching Parks and Rec for the millionth time. Amy cannot wait for the conference, and looks forward to watch all of the staff's hard work pay off with excellent debate, creative plots, and crisis arcs!
